TomTom One XL Europe 31 - Map installed but not active

Hello there,

Since I am portuguese and I don't know how to speak spanish I will write in English.

I've deleted my default european map from my TomTom memory to update to a new one. But my new one has more size and I can't use it since my SD has only 2GB.
I moved my default map again to my SD card and now my TomTom turns on but nothing happens, just stay on boot screen.

I've open BBS Tools and now this program says I don't have any maps installed (but I have the default map).

Running TomTom Home 2 will fix this since it downloads the map again?

EDIT: Since my internal memory card has only 2GB is it possible to find a map only for Spain and Portugal (Iberia) with less then 2GB? My TomTom has european map and I don't really need it since I only drive in Portugal.

The map you need is the iberia 980.7898.

If your navcore is not patched, use the bbstools light forum tool, both to patch and activate the new map.
I do not know if you have patched the navcore, I guess not, it is necessary to activate the maps

Yes, I did patched something called "TTS or PND" on BSS Tools.

A summary: After the patch I've done I should download and select the map I want to use on BBS Tools (image under this) and then it's ready to use after this?
Also, should I move the map first to my TomTom and then select the map to activate it on BBS Tools or I can select the maps folder from my hard drive?
I ask this because my TomTom internal storage has only 2GB and I can't have both on my storage (I guess, I don't know the new one size).

Once you receive it you unzip it, and the resulting folder you put it in the internal memory of your gps

Then follow the map activation manual for bbstools light.

I remember that once patched the navcore, you must restart the gps so that you create a file called ttgo.bif necessary for the activation of the map

Done. I've done everything you said. It's working but somehow after a few seconds of use my GPS shutdown (goes directly to the antitheft image and shutdown).

Is it an issue?

Do you have a battery?
I tell you because nothing else to turn on the gps and goes off may be because the battery is low.

Turn it on and connect it to the pc so it has a continuous battery

It happened while conected onto my PC.

@Pegaso, it's solved. Somehow the cable got disconnected and it was low battery.

You are going to delete all the content you have right now, and you are going to unpack what you are sending, copy all the folders and files in the internal memory.
Once copied everything, turn off the GPS, disconnect the pc, turn on gps and advance until you get the screen that says "no maps."

Then you reconnect the gps to the pc, and in this case you are going to put the first map that I send you, the 980.7898 and activate it with bbstools light

It should work if or if, and you will have a map with characteristics superior to 980.7971

If you decide someday you just have to tell me and I send the private with the navcore already cooked, but if you are comfortable with what you have, I also want you to lie and that you can go wrong

To be honest, it's the first time I do this to a GPS. This actually is not mine. A friend asked me, since I work with computers, If I could update his maps and I said: "Well, with a litle research nothing is impossible". After 2/3 hours I finnaly made it and it's working fine.

And because it's not mine Im leaving as it is. But Im thinking to buy a TomTom and then I will explore a litle bit more the features I can get on this board/forum.

Tho, this was a really great help because I couldn't find good tutorials since this is an old device.
